Waiting for AGI
Inspired by the absurdist play Waiting for Godot, the work creates two digital beings trapped inside computer files, waiting alone for AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) to rescue them. An independent intelligent entity called "Little Boy" exists outside their environment, placing the philosophical act of waiting within the age of artificial intelligence and exposing humanity's expectation of a technological singularity and the futility of waiting for the unknown.
The two digital beings constantly discuss whether AGI will arrive. Outside the computer environment, "Little Boy" repeatedly and randomly evaluates the possibility of AGI's arrival, but the beings trapped inside the host computer can never receive his "predictions".
By simulating a prolonged wait for AGI in a digital environment, the work highlights the predicament of two digital beings who can never obtain a third party's prophecy. It becomes a metaphor for humanity's longing for a technological savior and its sense of powerlessness before powerful technologies.
